NORDIC SKIING & SNOWSHOEING

Winter Trails. Your Pace.

CHOOSE YOUR PATH

Clear Creek County’s year-round trail network includes more than 200 miles of multi-use trails. In winter, select routes offer opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, from the Bakerville–Loveland Trail to forest paths around Echo Lake and Beaver Brook Watershed. Choose a route that suits your experience, check conditions, and make time for a warm meal afterward.

A steady glide. A little winter wandering.

Explore the Bakerville–Loveland Trail for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing when snow conditions allow. Choose a distance that suits your group, check current access and grooming information, and leave plenty of time for the return trip.

On shared trails, snowshoe beside established ski tracks to help keep them intact.

Find Your Winter Trail

Rent What You Need

Snowshoe rentals are available in Idaho Springs through Maison de Ski and Exit 240 Rentals. Reserve ahead, confirm available sizes and what’s included, and bring warm, waterproof boots. If you’re planning to Nordic ski, arrange a cross-country-specific rental package before your visit.

Before You Head Out

Check weather, access, and avalanche conditions for your chosen route. Winter trails can be unmarked and ungroomed, and a summer difficulty rating does not describe winter hazards. Bring layers, water, and an offline map, and choose terrain that matches your winter experience.

COME BACK TO SOMETHING WARM

Find a table. Settle in. Share the stories of the day while a local kitchen takes care of dinner. Stay the night and give tomorrow a slower start, with coffee, breakfast, and a little more time in the mountains.
