Step into a gondola cabin and rise above the rugged slopes of Virginia Canyon. Over roughly ten minutes, the cable car climbs more than 1,200 vertical feet, revealing mountain ridges, old mining claims, and trails winding across the hillside.

At Miners Point, you’re 8,800 feet above sea level. Take a moment to look around. There’s no hurry to move on from a view like this.

Plan Your Ride

Leave room for the top.

Meet at the overlook. Take the photo with everyone in it. Then settle in for food and drinks at the Argo Outpost, where the mountains give you something to look at between conversations.

Check the Argo’s event calendar before visiting—you might find live music or another reason to stay a little longer. Or keep it simple: a ride up, a shared meal, and time to enjoy where you are.

Bring a layer for the top, along with water, sun protection, and comfortable shoes. Check current hours, weather, and the last ride down before heading up, especially if you plan to spend time on the trails.

Choose tickets for the experiences you want to include. Cable car rides, mountain biking, and Argo Mill & Tunnel tours have different ticket options, with combination packages available. Review parking details when booking, and contact the Argo with questions about accessibility or boarding needs.

Cruise beneath the aspens or follow the trail somewhere steeper. Choose your pace, pack a snack and save a little energy for the ride back.
